The opportunity
We are looking for one ( 1) Specialist Logistics in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Site Infrastructure and Services – Logistics department based at Oyu Tolgoi mine site with roster of 5 days on and 2 days off (Flexible to switch to 10/4 as needed). This role has a great potential to next level promotion.
Outbound operation is one of the few highest risk jobs thoghout the OT business. The primary purpose of this role is to demonstrate strong safety leadership commitments consistently, settle the issues of transportation of copper concentrate in compliance with related laws, rules, procedures and practices. A fundamental structural management is required to the existing large amount of contractors providing copper concentrate transportation service. Decide the issue of structure to perform this work professionally by leading and supporting the teams.
What the role entails
- Sufficient understanding over well-being of our business purely depends on the safe operation.
- Cost-effectively and safely managing task assignments in relation to areas that may include but not limited to sales and marketing, bagging operations, security, procurement, inventory management, maintatance, planning, warehousing, logistics and transportation to ensure safe and efficient delivery of the product within the supply chain.
- Provides advice as to the technical, operational and/or commercial impact areas that may include particular functions of concentrate inventory control, warehousing and safe transportation and delivery within the supply chain.
- Plans and schedules the concentrate delivery within the suplly chain.
- Incorporates relevant compliance and control of government rules and regulations, company policy and safety requirements into everyday activities.
- Develops and implements an annual field support plan to align operational support and logistics activities and determine priorities. Contributes to the development of budgets. Monitors and reports on the achievement of technical and logistical milestones.
- Manages the deployment of staff, contractors, equipment and other resources. Oversees training and induction processes for staff and contractors within the responsible area ensuring understanding and commitment to comply with company standards, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Works with stakeholders and field staff to resolve technical and operational challenges related to logistics and operations system implementation.
- Develops networks of operational support and logistics external providers to share best practice and promote alignment of activities with company requirements, priorities and directions.
What you will need for this role
- Bachelor degree Logistics or related fields
- Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
- Strong negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and with a moderate level of guidance and direction
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Mongolian and English
- Proficiency in Microsoft office products
