The opportunity
We are looking for one ( 1) Lead Project in UG Construction department based at Oyu Tolgoi mine site with roster 14 days on and 14 days off.
The primary purpose of this role is to be the primary person responsible for the client’s construction team responsible for overseeing the contractor’s construction work, focusing on safety, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
What the role entails
- Supporting the delivery of assigned construction packages from development of detailed engineering to handover to operations.
- Ensuring that contractor performs work safely, in accordance with the safety plan rules and regulations and project procedures.
- Monitor the performance of the EPCM contactor to ensure compliance with schedule, cost and quality requirements.
- Coordinating project execution functions between the EPCM and the Owner’s Engineering, QA/QC and Project Services teams.
- Chairing, participating, and organising the coordination/interface meetings with project stakholders including action management.
- Support procurement activities for construction materials and equipment contracts to ensure adherence to construction schedule.
- Liaising with the EPCM to support field engineering queries, issues and changes requested by Contractors.
- Reviewing engineering deliverables for adequacy and completeness and initiating appropriate corrective actions.
- In field design verification and compliance with standards and specifciations and reporting construction deficiencies.
- Identifying changes in engineering and construction methodology that significantly improve execution.
- Draft project reports related to construction progress, performance, and critical issues.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to drive a culture of collaboration, participation and improvement.
What you will need for this role
- Undergraduate or equivalent or higher education obtained through degrees or diplomas from academic college or universities.
- Bachelor degree or above in Engineering – Civil, Structural, Electrical and Mechanical or in Business Administration & Management.
- At least 3 years of related experience working on construction projects within mining, civil, mechanical or heavy construction industries.
- Having or working to obtain a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an advantage.
- Have excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Have high oral and written English skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and problem solving skills.
