The Oyu Tolgoi Supplier Forum is being held today. Approximately 675 interested entities and suppliers were registered with 1200 people attending the #OTSupplierForum today. The forum continues Oyu Tolgoi’s focus on building a sustainable in-country supply chain, engaging Mongolian businesses on future opportunities in the long-term goods and services. The forum was designed to engage Mongolia’s supplier community on key considerations in working with Oyu Tolgoi, including, safety and business integrity, and Oyu Tolgoi’s focus on an in-country supply chain life ‘Life of Mine’ goods and services, covering both operations and underground. Attending suppliers participated in breakout sessions on ‘Critical Risk Management’ – focused on safety, and ‘Made in Mongolia’ – focused on opportunities for greater in-Mongolia value addition and manufacturing in Life of Mine goods and services for Oyu Tolgoi, and the wider mining and related sectors.
