Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (ot.mn) – Oyu Tolgoi regrets to report that an employee of a contractor has died of suspected natural causes at the Oyu Tolgoi site.
A Filipino man, 47, was found dead in his room at site on 13 June 2012. It is believed he died at approximately 5.00am. There are no suspicious circumstances. He worked in the Quality Assurance Team for management and engineering contractor Fluor.
A post-mortem has been held and efforts are being made to repatriate the body.
The thoughts of all the staff at Oyu Tolgoi are with the man’s wife and family. Out of respect for the privacy of the family we will not be releasing the name of the deceased.
