The opportunity
We are looking for one (1) Supervisor Roadway in Oyu Tolgoi Underground Mining- ELHL Construction department based at Oyu Tolgoi mine with the roster of 14 days on and 14 days off.
The purpose of this role is a key member of the Owner’s Construction team who oversees the execution of civil construction works performed by the contractor to ensure compliance with safety, schedule, cost and quality requirements.
What the role entails
- Supervision of Civil construction works performed by the contractor to ensure delivery complies with the schedule, cost and quality requirements.
- Ensure that Contractors perform work safely, in accordance with the safety plan rules and regulations and project procedures.
- Participate in construction risk assessments processes to ensure that planned work is executed safely and in accordance with site procedures.
- Preparing and supporting the execution of project plans including coordination of work permits, materials, equipment, tools and labour.
- Provide input and liaise with project stakeholders to ensure adequate planning for all construction activities is in place, and reporting deviations to plan.
- Liaises with the contractor to support field engineering queries, issues and changes requested by Contractors.
- Reviews project related documentation for adequacy and completeness and initiates appropriate corrective actions.
- In field design and construction verification to confirm compliance with standards and specifications and reporting of deficiencies.
- Liaises with the project QA/QC teams to ensure that all Government and Authorities requirements are satisfied.
- Identifies changes in engineering and construction methodology that significantly improves execution outcomes.
- Prepares daily and weekly reports covering status of activities, progress/performance and emerging issues.
- Assist in development of the workforce’s technical skills through in the field coaching and training programs.
What you will need for this role
- Post-secondary or equivalent education obtained through degrees, certificates (e.g. apprenticeship or trades certificate) or diplomas from academic or vocational training centers
- Work experience in Construction engineer or Engineering
- At least 5 years relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training
- Fluently in English and Mongolian (Both Written & Spoken)
- Manages relationships with contractor teams, monitors compliance with SLAs & provides resolution for any quality issues, budget shortfalls etc
- Understands safety & quality control procedures for Oyu Tolgoi & drives adherence within the contractor teams
