The opportunity
We are looking for one (1) Writer Technical (This is 1-year fixed term role) in Oyu Tolgoi LLC, Underground Operations- Operational readiness department based at Ulaanbaatar.
The primary purpose of this role is responsible for development, design and revision of task lists, checklists, standard
operating procedures, manuals, training packages and other materials that translate the operation and maintenance task
requirements of the respective operation and maintenance program into work instructions that are used in the
performance of maintenance.
What the role entails
- Create and maintain documentation.
- Gather and record information effectively with team members, users, and management.
- Explain complex ideas and technical systems to readers and stakeholders using written and oral communication
- skills.
- Team player must be able to work with both the technical and maintenance personnel with minimal supervision.
- Manage documentation standards, methods, and practices.
- Develop training materials, and other product and departmental support materials as required.
- Provide input to team members throughout the documentation effort.
- Manage priorities to meet project schedules.
- Report documentation progress to stakeholders.
- Attend related meetings throughout the asset lifecycle to identify and change documentation.
- Supporting the efforts of reliability and planners
- Supporting the implementation of the Rio Tinto Business Solution

What you will need for this role
- Undergraduate or equivalent or higher education in Engineering, Mining or a relevant discipline obtained
- At least 3 years work experience in mining and engineering field
- At least 3 years relevant experience in writing and using technical documents, or otherwise the significant
- practical experience and on the job training.
- Strong flexible and adaptable skill
- Highly responsible
- Ability to work effectively, communicate and negotiate effectively with a wide range of parties
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office products
- Strong communication skills in English and Mongolian-both written and verbal
through degrees or diplomas from academic college or universities.
