The opportunity
We are looking for One (1) Student Intern in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Surface Operations-Mine Operations Department based Oyu Tolgoi Site with 14 days on and 14 days off. 3 months internship programme
The primary purpose of Student Intern – Mine Operations is to assist in the development, completion, review of mine and tailings construction short-range plans in coordination planning teams, operations engineers, supervisors. This role also contributes to reconciliation of production data, planning, scheduling and coordination of operational activities, conformance review to mining and tailings construction design, standards and procedures. In line with role’s contribution to sustain safety and productivity of operation, this role also supports delivery of continuous improvement initiatives and management of operating procedures and documents.
What the role entails:
- Assist in developing a safety culture whilst ensuring that all work undertaken in areas of responsibility comply with existing safety legislation and is in full compliance with applicable HSE standards.
- Active participation in workplace inspection
- Proactive Active participation in workplace inspection.
- Assist in the development, completion, review of mine and tailings construction short-range plans in coordination planning teams, operations engineers, supervisors.
- Support to reconciliate production data – equipment time metrics, productivity and performance.
What you will need for this role
- Must be a Mongolian citizen.
- Must be enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s program in mining engineering in Mongolia and either be a 4th or 5th-year student at a law university or have recently graduated.
- GPA must be 3.2 or higher (on 4.0 scale).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Good verbal and written skills in English will be advantage.
