The opportunity
We are looking for One (1) Specialist, Strategic Workforce Planning in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – People and Organization Department based in Ulaanbaatar Office with 5 days on and 2 days off. This role is 1-years fixed term contract.
The purpose of this role is to support workforce planning activities by providing accurate and timely data management and analysis to HR, line leaders, and employees. The role helps maintain the integrity of people-related data in HR systems and contributes to the tracking of workforce supply and demand. By using data analysis and reporting, it helps inform talent-related decisions and supports the organization’s efforts toward achieving its Best Operator goals. The role also assists in preparing insights and reports that guide business conversations and support workforce-related planning and risk mitigation.
What the role entails:
- Provide advice to the human resources team on issues, escalations, and identification of impacts that relate to workforce planning data maintenance activities.
- Acts as internal point of escalation for workforce planning data maintenance troubleshooting and issue management.
- Works with appropriate Groups (People Services and Areas of expertise) where required to exchange information and resources.
- Provides analytical support & data analysis on projects & human resource metrics.
- Oversees and coordinates annual workforce planning cycle in alignment with OT business strategy and Rio Tinto practice.
- Case manages complex queries that require intervention.
- Analyses workforce planning data & utilizes it effectively with Business Partners to ensure all factors are considered.
- Manages labor productivity metrics & makes recommendations on productivity improvements.
- Performs complex reporting and analysis as required.
- Provides support to human resource initiatives (e.g., succession and development planning, performance reviews) by consolidating data, updating charts, and preparing reports.
What you will need for this role
- Undergraduate or equivalent or higher education obtained through degrees or diplomas from academic college or universities.
- A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline aligned to the function’s responsibilities Related Experience.
- Related Experience
- At least 5 years relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training
- Strong analytical and critical thinking
