The opportunity
We are looking for one (1) Manager UG Electrical & Instrumentation in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Underground Electrical & Instrumentation department based at Oyu Tolgoi mine site with roster 3,5 days on and 3,5 days off
The purpose of this role is to manage a team of functional / operational professional employees and/or supervisors or supervises large, complex technical/operational teams. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Addresses issues with impact beyond own team based on knowledge of related disciplines.
What the role entails
- Contributing to the development and implementation of the safety culture for the UG E&I team,
- Be a champion of functional and process safety for UG E&I,
- Facilitating and leading the development, improvement and integrity of electrical maintenance standards, including upskilling resources, tools and practices,
- Collaborating with key stakeholders and maintenance teams to improve asset maintenance efficiencies, reliability and work standards,
- Conducting maintenance performance assessments against relevant standards including coaching others in assessment and verification processes,
- Engaging with stakeholders to ensure onboarding and commissioning of new assets are managed and consistent with Oyu Tolgoi’s established standards,
- Providing support and coaching to frontline leaders in the continued application and implementation of work management processes and standards with their crews, and
- Developing subordinates in safety and asset management leading practices
What you will need for this role
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Electrical, Instrumentation engineering discipline is preferred, but progressive mining experience will be considered.
- At least 5 years relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training
- Have a deep commitment and passion for developing people at the front line,
- Excellent communication and leadership skills and leading a team effectively.
- Familiar with computer skills including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office
- Excellent personal time management and attitude – Positive attitude and willingness to take on challenges.
- English and Mongolian competency in both written and oral is essential.
