The opportunity
We are looking for two (2) Forklift Operator in Logistics department based at Oyu Tolgoi Mine site with roster 14 days on and 14 days off.
This role will report to the Supervisor Marshalling Yard. Their primary purpose will be but not limited to the loading and unloading of Cucon, with a clear focus on performing all duties in a safe and secure manner. Other tasks and activities are to ensure that Oyu Tolgoi’s export logistic operation esp at the are carried out in a timely and safe manner, being aware that the companies bottom line is at stake. Aditional duties may be assigned from time to time by supporting and actively and positively assisting other roles within the department’s areas of control.
What the role entails
- “This role (“”Fork lift opertor””) will report to the Marshalling Yard (MY) supervisor. A major role for the Fork lift operator will be but not limited to perform the day to day duties in a safe manner within the Outbound logistics areas of control, which will include but not limited to:-
- Loading and unloading of CuCon or other materials as and when that is required, by operating a forklift
- Proactively contribute to a safety culture whilst ensuring that all work undertaken within their areas of responsibility comply with existing safety rules and regulations and is in full compliance with applicable HSE standards and working procedures
- Contributes to the safety of all fellow team members and that all identified risks are mitigated with appropriate controls put in place
- Be responsible for understanding changes to their assigned work areas and control any potential hazards
- Ensure to complete and record a pre-start check of the equipment that is being used and a Critical Control Check (CCC) prior to performing any tasks and duties
- Provide input into the continuous improvement process and any and all cost saving initiatives
- To perfom other duties that are requested of them, these may be to provide back up for absent colleagues or to assist other collegues during the course of their work day, as and when that is requested.
What you will need for this role
- Post-secondary or equivalent education obtained degrees, certificates (e.g. apprenticeship or trades certificate) or diplomas from academic or vocational training centres.
- At a minimum the incumbent should hold the following license or tickets and be competant at operating, A, forklifts up to 10 T capacity, A clean valid drivers B license
- Relevant experience typically achieved through vocational training and equivalent practical experience or proof of on-the-job training. English skills would be favourable but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong commitment to safety
