The opportunity
We are looking for one (1) Coordinator Materials in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Underground EL & HL Construction Department based Oyu Tolgoi Site with 14 days on and 14 days off.
This role is a great opportunity for someone who has prior experience in material management and warehouse operation, can successfully multi-task, has good SAP knowledge and operates in a manner where safety is in the forefront. The role will work closely with the different components of the team. The role will take ownership of either approving or escalating (depending on value) material purchase requests to appropriate approvers.
The position is a vital role to ensure that the readiness and quality of materials on site that are critical to ELHL’s ability to deliver its scopes on time and in budget.
What the role entails:
- Manage material workflows and work with construction teams to ensure there are no material shortages for upcoming construction tasks
- Liaise daily with OT logistics team about all material shipment to and from site and inform relevant parties
- Liaise and coordinate daily with OT warehouse and inventory teams to ensure ELHL-owned and ELHL contractor-owned materials are received, stored and transported properly according to ELHL material logistics plan.
- Work closely with contractor material logistics teams and monitor their material stocks, conduct quarterly physical counts of material stocks with contractor mat log team members
- Assist teams by liaising effectively to expedite material movement to the Underground mine. Ensure Underground construction teams have continuous and uninterrupted supply of materials needed for construction tasks.
- Raise Reservation Requests on the SAP system for materials registered on the system with requisite material no.
- Coordinate the efforts to obtain material no. for new materials on the SAP system
- Work with ELHL package and project engineers to provide support to their material ordering and tracking duties
- Work with ELHL cost controllers to provide support to their procurement order and requisition raising duties
- Take ownership of approving or escalating approval of material request raised on the Bill of Materials e-form
- Ensure all proper procedures are followed and registrations are done for hazardous substance coming to site
What you will need for this role
- Undergraduate or equivalent or higher education obtained through degrees or diplomas from academic college or universities.
- Must have proficiency with English as it is the primary communication used in the project.
- Construction material management experience required.
- Experience working on mine sites, managing materials is preferred.
- MS Office skills and experience with excel and word.
- Leadership skills and developed communication skills with good attitude to interface with project team and external vendors and other stakeholders.
- Strong material management skills and ability to coordinate and own large amount of construction materials ranging from minor to major components
- Ability to plan, prioritize and work to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Strong attention to details.
