The opportunity
We are looking for One (1) Senior Engineer Communications in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Underground Technology Department based Oyu Tolgoi Site with 14 days on and 14 days off.
Develop and maintain maintenance plans for all UG Technology assets, which will deliver clear visibility and required reliability and form the basis of a Zero-Based Budget (ZBB). The role will also provide support and governance to projects and engineering roles and functions that deliver technology and systems for the OTUP.
What the role entails:
- Develop and manage weekly, monthly, and 3-year plans for all major UG Technology assets. These plans will feed into the Integrated Planning Process (IPP) and will include asset event and shutdown calendars with labor and resource profiles.
- Develop equipment replacement strategies and forecasts.
- Develop component forecasts and liaise with OEMs to ensure the availability of these components as required.
- Conduct analysis on critical parts and ensure correct site holdings meet our needs.
- Develop and implement plant register, task lists, and bill of materials as part of the maintenance management system (SAP) implementation.
- Prepare jobs so they can be executed as safely as possible. Conduct regular safety interactions.
- Generate job procedures for all maintenance work and maintain it in the form of Task Lists.
- Create and maintain parts lists (BOMs) for all equipment.
- Order all necessary materials for maintenance work in the area of responsibility and verify that the parts are correct and onsite.
- Accurately estimate the time required to complete maintenance work along with manpower requirements.
- Optimize and maintain maintenance strategies and tactics through the development of effective maintenance plans.
- Conduct regular field audits to observe the execution and discuss the quality of the plans with supervisors.
- Create Notifications in SAP and convert Notifications into Work Orders.
- Create, maintain, and improve the quality of zero-based budgets within the business solution.
- Utilize the Component Tracking module in SAP to track the history of critical components.
- Maintain accurate coding in SAP to ensure a comprehensive equipment history.
- Facilitate various meetings to improve the plan following execution of the work.
- Manage the maintenance backlog in the UG Technology area.
- Have a good understanding of what the Work Management KPIs mean and how they are calculated.
- Be able to drive improvements if KPI’s are low
What you will need for this role
- Undergraduate or equivalent or higher education obtained through degrees or diplomas from academic colleges or universities.
- At least 3 years relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training.
- Maintenance planner for at least 2 years
- Maintenance leadership desirable
- High levels of understanding of SAP
- Prefer experience in developing and implementing maintenance tactics
