The opportunity
We are looking for two ( 2) Analyst Data in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Information Technology department based in Ulaanbaatar.
The purpose of this role is to provide services and support on designing and building scalable data models, cleaning and transforming data, and enabling advanced analytic capabilities that provide meaningful business value through easy-to-comprehend data visualizations with the company policies and procedures to achieve the team’s objectives and targeted plan. Also responsible for the provisioning and configuration of both on-premises and cloud data platform technologies and manage and secure the flow of structured and unstructured data from multiple of sources.
What the role entails
- Analyze SQL server and storage requirements provided by users from various areas and provide feedback as to what can be improved/changed
- Understanding and complying with all IT policies, standards and procedures
- Ensure database and system administration processes are followed as per policies set for each function
- Follow regional and global corporate standards and practices
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Filter and “clean” data by reviewing reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
- Using advanced computerized models to extract the data needed
- Removing corrupted data
- Performing initial analysis to assess the quality of the data
- Performing further analysis to determine the meaning of the data
- Performing final analysis to provide additional data screening
- Preparing reports based on analysis and presenting to management
- Creating charts and graphs, histograms, geographical maps, and other visual models that help to explain the meaning of large volumes of data, and isolate areas of interest.
- Delivering information in a useful and appealing way to users by creating rich graphical dashboards and reports
- Deploying sophisticated analytics programs, machine learning, and statistical methods.
- Using data to discover tasks that can be automated
- Conducting research for industry and business questions
- Using programming languages and tools to examine the data
- Aligning the data architecture with business requirements
- Making large or complex data more accessible, understandable, and usable.
What you will need for this role
- Undergraduate or equivalent or higher education obtained through degrees or diplomas from academic college or universities.
- Computing or Information technology or a discipline relevant to the performing function.
- At least 5 years relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Both verbal and written, in Mongolian and English is required.
