The opportunity

We are looking for one ( 1) Senior Advisor Electrical & Instrumentation in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Concentrator Maintenance department based at Oyu Tolgoi mine site with roster 7 days on and 7 days off.

The purpose of this role is to support the Superintendent Electrical & Instrumentation in managing all aspects of the Maintenance of the Concentrator Electrical & Instrumentation systems by advising and coordinating the works and Projects through the workforce, to ensure, safe, reliable Concentrator operation.

What the role entails

  • Ensure compliance with OT HSE policies, programs, and procedures as applicable.
  • Consistently adhere to the “Life Saving Rules” at all times.
  • Consult, advise, and collaborate with the Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor during both scheduled and unscheduled downtimes of the electric equipment at the Concentration Plant.
  • To effectively schedule planned shutdowns and project implementation, collaborate with the Concentrator Maintenance Planning Team and Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisors.
  • To access the required spare parts for equipment, coordinate purchase requests by closely collaborating with the Sourcing and Planning teams.
  • To resolve complex issues in concentrator operations, collaborate with the OEM subject matter experts and the Engineering Support team.
  • To provide support on optimization of maintenance strategies with the aim of achieving to reduce operation cost and/or to increase efficiency and output through Business Transformation initiatives.
  • At the event of technical and equipment failure to provide support on root cause analysis on timely manner completion.
  • To work on the projects which are required to be implemented in future.
  • To conduct the training to Concentrator Maintenance team as required and requested.
  • To recommend modifications and upgrade projects to enhance plant availability and performance.
  • Any other tasks assigned by management..

What you will need for this role

  • Higher education obtained through degrees or diplomas in the fields of “Electric Machines,” “Electric Drive Systems,” and/or “Power Electronics” from accredited academic institutions, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in power electronics.
  • Demonstrated expertise in UPS systems and their maintenance.
  • Proficiency in identifying and troubleshooting faults in the instrumentation of plant process control automation systems.
  • Qualification in relay protection and secondary circuits of electrical equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong oral and written English communication skills. Chinese language is advantageous
