Underground development and services contract packages

Oyu Tolgoi LLC (OT LLC) would like to invite your organisation (“EOI Participant”) to submit an expression of interest in relation to a range of underground development and services contract packages which form part of the Oyu Tolgoi Phase II Project (“Project”).

Expressions of interest are to be submitted to rfxbox@ot.mn by 17:00pm GMT on Monday 14 September 2015. (More details described in the Attachments to this announcement)

The purpose of this EOI is to:

a) Provide transparency to the market of the packages likely to be let during the early phase of the Project;

b) Provide an opportunity for national Mongolian, regional and international organisations to register their interest in potentially bidding for a single or a suite of contract packages;

c) Obtain information regarding any Partnership or Joint Venture type relationship with relevant international organization(s) in order to bid for a single or suite of contract packages;

d) Obtain information regarding the long term plan to establish reliable and cost competitive in country (within Mongolia) supply chain for the Life of Mine product and services, where applicable, in collaboration with the respective regional, national and international organization(s);

e) Obtain improved intelligence with respect to the capabilities and capacity of Mongolian national, regional and international contractors to deliver key packages;

f) Utilise the information gathered in the EOI to inform our sourcing strategy and identify organisations appropriate for involvement in formal tender for major or priority packages.

It should be noted that the EOI process is only seeking expressions of interest from potential contractors, and makes no representation or promise in relation to procuring work from a supplier. Nor does the Company make any guarantee as to the package schedule and scope represented as indicative in the following supplied information

EOI participants will be expected to comply with the relevant obligations stated within Rio Tinto and Company policies including “Oyu Tolgoi Procurement Principles” and “The Way We Work –Code of Business Conduct”. EOI participants should familiarise themselves with their applicable obligations under these policies prior to responding to the EOI. The Company will not be responsible for any costs associated with preparing and submitting an EOI to the Company.

EOI participants acknowledge and agree that all concepts, designs, formulae, ideas, specifications and other information whether oral, written, printed or graphic contained in the EOI and subsequent correspondence or obtained or received by your organisation from or with the consent or approval of the Company in connection with the EOI (“Information”) are confidential to the Company and shall not be used or supplied to others by the EOI participant except for the purpose of preparing and submitting an EOI.
