The opportunity

We are looking for one (1) Specialist Tax in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Finance – Accounting and External Reporting department based at Ulaanbaatar.

The key focus of this role is to prepare and maintain tax records, returns, reports and other related materials; participate in the development and implementation of tax strategy, advise legal means to minimize tax liability using thorough knowledge of tax laws and regulations; and organize tax and other audit preparation.

What the role entails

• Ensure that the company is Mongolian tax compliant and all statutory reports are prepared and submitted on time in accordance with the Mongolian tax laws
• Liaise and coordinate any tax issues with appropriate government and tax agencies according to the IA and the company tax strategy
• Assist during tax, other government and SOX audits , ensure that the company is prepared for all audits and lead workto prepare and provide the supporting document , journalsrequestedby audit and all teams
• Take an active position in any tax appeals
• Active role in assisting for preparing the Tax memo/Guidelines and ensure that it is updated accordingly
• Ensure that Mongolian tax laws and DTT are being implemented on a company wide basis
• Coordinate closely with the company’s contracted Tax Advisors
• Assist to prepare company impact memo and analysis on tax law and related procedure changes including draft laws
• Review all related parties transactions, supports and prepare required reports
• Reconciliation of SAP and tax return data, preparation of HFM tax reports
• Cooperate closely with legal department/company advocate for tax and audit issues, other related tasks on timely bases

What you will need for this role

• Bachelor degree and above in Taxation, Finance, Accounting or relevant discipline
• Experience typically achieved through graduate qualifications plus at least 5 years relevant experience
• Certified Tax Accountant and/or Certified Public Accountant is preferred
• Extensive ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing both
• Mongolian and English Proficiency in Microsoft office programs (Word, excel, PowerPoint)
