The opportunity

We are looking for one (1) Specialist Network Architecture in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Information Technology – Operational Technology department based at Oyu Tolgoi mine with the roster of 5 days on and 2 days off.

The primary purpose of this role is to develop, maintain and implement the network architecture and design for existing infrastructure improvements and new requirements including high level, low level designs and technology plan for the overall logical and technical network architecture. The individual in this role will provide technical leadership on this area across the organization from high level decision making down to the execution and implementation. In addition the person in this role will provide support and maintenance on existing OT Network Infrastructure in terms of escalation and major problem resolution. Ongoing service improvement, effective utilization and optimization initiatives are also critical.

What the role entails

• Responsible for designing and implementing short-term tactical and long-term strategic plans to make certain network capacity meets existing and future requirements related with network expansion and growth
• Ensure network services have sufficient capacity, stability, and agility to satisfy service level agreements with business units
• Participate in the development of network strategies in collaboration with the necessary stakeholders including OT IT Management, Vendor SMEs, Rio Tinto parties (IS&T, Cyber) and others
• Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network resource administration and appropriate use. Oversee the creation and maintenance of documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records
• Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and providing network performance statistics and reports
• Stay current on latest technologies and conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all network procurement and development efforts
• Provide technical expertise, direction, and assistance to Network Engineers and other teams on maintaining the existing network infrastructure
• Responsible for dealing with escalations and major problems occurred on UB/OT ICT infrastructure related wired/wireless networks including Internet access, RT wired/wireless network, Telephone systems, Cyber security, Guest network, Access control system, CCTV and others
• Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvements on the responsible network system

What you will need for this role

• Bachelor degree and above in Information technology /Computer Science, Network /Communication Engineering or relevant discipline·
• Experience typically achieved through graduate qualifications and at
  least 5 to 10 years relevant experience in Information Technology and
  Infrastructure area
• Excellent Network architecture, design and engineering skills and
  expertise is highly preferred along with technical support documentation skills
  and experience
• Certifications in relevant discipline such as CCNP and CCIE
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills
• Fluency in Mongolian and English, both written and oral
• Proven analytical and problem- solving abilities
• Strong technical knowledge and experience of network technologies and
  components such as following but not limited to;
