Oyu Tolgoi continues to support the Mongolian Judo Federation towards the London 2012 Olympics

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia – Mongolian male judo wrestlers won first place in the second Chinggis Khan World Cup IJF Qualification Event for the Mongolian Judo Federation in the run up to the London 2012 Olympics. The tournament was held on July 24 and 25, 2010 under the auspices of His Excellency Mr. Tsakhia Elbegdorj, the President of Mongolia. Oyu Tolgoi sponsored this key sporting event for 20,000,000 MNT.

156 wrestlers from 19 countries including Japan, South Korea, USA, Russia, Czech, Kazakhstan, DPRK, Armenia, Malaysia, China, Vietnam, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine, Belgium, Iran and Mongolia participated in the tournament. The Mongolian team included Tuvshinbayar Naidan, the 2008 Beijing Olympics gold medal winner, and has won five gold, three silver and 12 bronze medals.
