Press release: Let’s preserve water!

Umnugobi, Mongolia – Oyu Tolgoi Health Safety and Environmental department celebrated World Water Day 2013. The department organised the 'Water is Treasure' video competition with an aim to increase employees’ awareness of water and improve participation of all employees and contractors in efforts to conserve and protect water. World Water Day has been celebrated on 22 March since 1993 when the United Nations General Assembly declared 22 March as 'World Day for Water'. One of Oyu Tolgoi's most important goals is to promote and sustain a positive culture among all employees and contractors to use natural resources wisely.

The competition participants have called all employees to conserve water. We express our gratitude to all participants and employees involved.

Let’s conserve water using the following methods.

• Turn off the tap while soaping hands.
• Turn off the tap when brushing teeth.
• Turn off the tap when shaving.
• Don’t throw away any kind of waste near water sources such as rivers, springs and wells
