Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia – Initiative to set up database of geographic location, photos, images and videos, scientific names of pristine natural sites, rare wild life and plant species of Mongolia has been launched. On 19 December, 2013, national society to protect natural environment and wild life signed Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation with the Ministry of natural environment and green development and Ministry of culture, sports, tourism at the Ministry of Natural environment and green development. During the project launching, B.Tulga, Vice Minister of Natural environment, green development said" Not only Mongolians, but also foreigners will be able to see series of documentaries, photos documenting pristine natural beauty of Mongolia. I'm happy that Oyu Tolgoi company is investing and supporting sustainable implementation of this project" .
Oyu Tolgoi company provided 38 million tugrug financing supporting this initiative to document and photograph biodiversity, natural pristine environmental beauty of Umnugobi aimag and set up database of videos and photos. The project implementing team will visit pristine natural sites such as Khermen tsav, Gobi Gurvan saikhan, Khongoriin Els, Galba, Borzon, Khurmenii Gobi, Chono Shurguul in Umnugobi aimag in 2014 and document mammals, birds, reptiles, plants, insects through photos and videos.
