Success story: A company committed to quality

Orem Trade has supplied Oyu Tolgoi since 2010

Hundreds of local Mongolian companies supply goods and services to Oyu Tolgoi. These companies differ in terms of size and the types of activity that they pursue. One of these companies, Orem Trade LLC stands out for the quality of its service and it was recognised by Oyu Tolgoi as its Best Supplier of November and one of the nine best suppliers of 2012.

Since its establishment the company has supplied Oyu Tolgoi with a variety of components to Oyu Tolgoi.

“A mining company like Oyu Tolgoi has very high safety standards, and this includes small components and the smallest parts of machinery and equipment. Some Chinese made bolts are of inferior quality in terms of the metals used so we source our supplies in Canada and the United States,” said Orem Trade LLC Marketing Engineer, B.Enkhbayar. “Oyu Tolgoi has very high standards for quality. As this depends on small components, they rely on us to provide a great quality service.”

A branch off from foreign importer, Orem LLC, Orem Trade was established as a mining supplier in 2010. The company employs 15 staff, more than three times its original workforce. The company focuses on supplying goods and services in a timely and efficient manner.

B.Enkhbayar added: “We have a range of strict procedures and guidelines that we follow in order to keep our employees safe. We also have an official licence to supply all our chemical products. We supply state organisations as well as companies. We’re currently in the process of finding a location to construct a new chemical warehouse.”

The company recruits talented workers and trains them using a mentoring scheme with existing staff. Each month, experienced managers hold a workshop with staff to share ideas and expertise and are developing plans to improve online training through international training specialists. The company is a member of PASS Procurement Consulting and an official distributor for several American and Canadian companies.
