We are deeply concerned by the spread of false and defamatory allegations regarding Oyu Tolgoi’s procurement processes through certain media channels and online platforms. These baseless allegations unfairly damage the reputation of our company, employees, and the many suppliers who work with us in full compliance with integrity and legal standards.
Recent claims that specific employees disclosed tender information to benefit certain suppliers or received bonuses from procurement activities are entirely false and wholly unfounded. Responsible journalism requires seeking clarification before publishing allegations, and failing to do so undermines both journalistic integrity and public trust.
Oyu Tolgoi’s procurement process is transparent, multi-tiered, and fully compliant with Mongolian laws and regulations. No single individual has unilateral decision-making authority over procurement and our operations are subject to regularly audits by both national and international bodies. Detailed information about our procurement process key policies is publicly available at www.ot.mn.
We have strong, independent protocols in place to investigate any concerns or complaints regarding misconduct. We encourage anyone with credible concerns to report them confidentially via myvoicemongolia@riotinto.com. This channel is open to everyone, including all employees (current and former), contractors, suppliers, partners, and local community members. All reports are taken seriously and investigated independently, with confirmed violations acted upon in accordance with internal policies and legal requirements.
Oyu Tolgoi will take all neccessary steps to protect our workforce and the reputation of our company.
