Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia – This year Mongolia celebrates the 850th birthday of Chinggis Khan. To commemorate this historic event, Oyu Tolgoi have sponsored the production of an audio book of the literary masterpiece, 'The Secret History of the Mongols', under its own copyright.
We have used modern technology to produce this audio book in an effort to educate the younger generation of our rich history and culture. The audio file can be downloaded onto cell phones, MP3 players or iPods from the Oyu Tolgoi website or Facebook page, enabling everyone to listen to the story wherever they go. The audio book CD is also available at the National Library, the Ulaanbaatar Central Library and branches of the National Library in all Aimags across Mongolia.
Making 'The Secret History of the Mongols' audio book is just one of the many initiatives of Oyu Tolgoi’s cultural heritage programme, showing our commitment to passing on, preserving and sharing Mongolia’s culture and history.
