Press release: Children with hearing impairment spent a whole day playing at the National Amusement Park

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia – Oyu Tolgoi LLC gladly provided possibilities to the dormitory students who study at the secondary school N.29 specialised in educating students with hearing impairment to play at the National Amusement Park of Mongolia.

Along with their caregivers and teachers, 150 students spent a day on 20 September, playing at games and toys at the children’s park, and it was the most memorable day in their life. Many of the children are from countryside, and are herders’ children. So, many of them were not exposed to the urban development, and never been to the Amusement Park. “Although the children were not able to express themselves, it was obvious from their faces that they were excited and grateful with the opportunities” says Zolzaya teacher.

E.Nyamtseren, 4th grade student: “We tried many amazing games at the Park. I had never been there and I will never forget this day”.

M.Uyanga, 4th grade student: “We rode a very nice bus to go to the amusement park. I rode on the air-bicycling, 'Deglii' bird game, and rotating ball. It was very nice that my dormmates were with me to play there. My parents would not afford to let me play there, and it was very nice to try many games that day. Everyone tried maybe 3-4 games I think. One even played 11 games, unbelievable”.
