– Poets and writers visit the grand developments at the Oyu Tolgoi site –
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia – Mongolia’s most celebrated poets and writers shared their works of art with employees of Oyu Tolgoi at the very popular event, 'Bringing the cream of wisdom, melody of the language to the Oyu Tolgoi mine site'. The group of distinguished Mongolian poets and writers visited the Oyu Tolgoi project site in early August. The honoured guests were very impressed with their tour of the Oyu Tolgoi site and spent an unforgettable evening with Oyu Tolgoi employees. The entire group enjoyed the talented prose and poetry of Mongolia’s most celebrated poets and writers, along with some talented performances provided by Oyu Tolgoi employees.
The poets and writers included: T.Galsan, P.Badarch, Sh.Surenjav, D.Tsoodol, D.Turbat, L.Odonchimed, Dan.Nyamaa, A.Erdene-Ochir, T.Zunbileg, Do.Nyamaa, D.Tsendjav, and L.Purevdorj. Four of them have been nationally awarded. D.Turbat, nationally honoured and distinguished poet of Mongolia said: "This event has become a firm favourite for all of us. This is a very rare moment, the most celebrated writers and poets of Mongolia are gathered together in the same place at same time. I see the most dedicated youth of Mongolia are working here and I believe Oyu Tolgoi is going to be the future of the country, guaranteeing to promote the economic growth".
A similarly successful event was held at the Cultural centre of Khanbogd soum for the local community.

At least 9 out of 10 employees will be Mongolian once the mine is in production and Oyu Tolgoi is investing US$58 million dollars (78 billion MNT) in training and education and an additional US$27 million dollars (36 billion MNT) in the Workforce Employment Project designed to help address the general skills shortage in Mongolia
