Lori Irwin was appointed as General Manager, People and Organisation at Oyu Tolgoi in March 2025. She is responsible for leading the company’s people strategy, supporting organisational capability, and driving a strong culture of inclusion and performance across the business. Lori brings over 20 years of global experience in human resources, leadership coaching, and talent management, with a strong focus on supporting mining projects through both greenfield and brownfield development stages.

She has held several senior leadership roles at Rio Tinto, including General Manager, Human Resources for Borates & Lithium, and most recently, General Manager, Operational Readiness at Rio Tinto Battery Minerals, Rincon Lithium. Her expertise spans strategic workforce planning, organisational change, and building high-performing teams in complex operational environments.

Lori holds qualifications in human resources and business management and has obtained numerous certificates in areas such as Health & Safety, Lean Six Sigma, and Coaching & Training. Throughout her career, she has worked across various international regions, contributing her expertise to diverse and dynamic operational contexts.
