Oyu Tolgoi places particular importance towards ensuring a brighter future for younger generations. For that matter, we actively collaborate with NGOs to bring biggest positive impact. One of such instances where Oyu Tolgoi is maing difference for better is Gerelt, a dedicated mental and reproductive health project for adolescents currently in its fifth years of implementation. Since its launch in 2020, Oyu Tolgoi, in close collaboration with partner NGOs, established psychological counseling rooms, health and sport clubs at remote schools in Ulaanbaatar where the need is greater. Furthermore, counseling sessions with professional psychologists, peer to peer trainings, and other initiatives geared towards helping adolescents better cope with changes in their body and mind as well as guide them overcome their pressing mental issues are also an important part of the project. So far, 17 schools have benefitted from Gerelt project. The project has been extended to include four more schools in Bayanzurkh district for this academic year 2024/25.
