Oyu Tolgoi sponsored the remodeling of 186th kindergarten’s classroom for kids with autism.
For the first time in Mongolia, a class for children with autism opened in Sep 2017 at the kindergarten #168. Yet, the kindergarten didn’t have the classroom specially designed for disabled kids. As a result, parents’ committee from the kindergarten initiated to remodel the classroom, create a suitable space for their development, and further develop a sustainable program designed for kids with autism.
Promoting Inclusion & Diversity is a great example of living one of our values – “Respect” and we are proud to be working with the kindergarten and the parents’ committee on this project. Our future are our children and Oyu Tolgoi would like to congratulate the kindergarten on achieving the desired results and fully equipping the classrooms with training tools and teaching aids. We would also like to thank the parents committee and teachers for initiating this project and being creative with the decorations of the classroom.
Oyu Tolgoi makes an annual contribution of US$5 million to Gobi Oyu Development Support Fund for the communities sustainable development programmes and projects to contribute in health, education, employment, local businesses, procurement and environmental management.
