The opportunity

We are looking for one (1) Developer Software in our Oyu Tolgoi Underground – Information Systems and Technology department based in Ulaanbaatar.

The purpose of this role is to develop and support software systems and applications required to support the business operations.

What the role entrails

• Analyze software requirements provided by users from various areas and provide feedback as to what can be improved/changed
• Designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring and documenting software
• Understanding and complying with all IT policies, standards and procedures
• Ensure software and system administration processes are followed as per policies set for each function
• Plan and execute software version upgrade releases
• Follow regional and global corporate standards and practices
• Liase with vendors and support groups
• Undertake project related software development and proactive capacity analysis
• Ensure software projects come in on time and under budget
• Work with the Project team members and Operational team members in troubleshooting and identifying fixes for project related software problems and ideas
• Document project related application issues and post in the knowledgebase
• Ensure all safety standards, practices and policies are followed and incidents are reported
• Promotes and demonstrates values and behaviours in line with OT HSEC policies and standard

What you will need for this role

• Bachelor degree or above in Information Technology or relevant discipline to the performing function
• At least 5 years relevant experience and otherwise the significant practical experience or on-the-job training.
• Competent skills in programming languages such as .net framework C#, .net core C#, asp.net core, sql (t-sql, pl/sql), python (pandas, numpy, flask), nodejs (express, http, socket), javascript (reactjs, d3js), html (svg, canvas), java and protocols (rest api, soap api, grpc, tcp, udp, socket, amqp).
• Advance Knowledge of software engineering practices, software development processes
• Good data analysis, solving and good communication skills
• Good English language skills, both in written and oral
• Excellent knowledge and usage of Microsoft Office Software applications
