The opportunity
We are looking for one (1) Trainee Operator Underground in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Underground Production department based at Oyu Tolgoi mine site with roster 14 days on and 14 days off. (This role is a 1-year fixed-term opportunity)
The primary purpose of this role is to provide young individuals within OT with an opportunity to develop the requisite knowledge and competence for becoming equipment operator for UG Production.
What the role entails
- Work according to instructions given by direct management.
- Regularly participate in the courses specified in the training program in order to learn how to operate underground mining equipment.
- Accompanying an experienced employee
- Organize work according to work orders/given instructions.
- Inspection and cleaning of underground mining equipment and reporting damage.
- Comply with all company policies and regulations.
- Effectively execute daily and weekly planned and unplanned tasks.
- Collaborate with co-workers and other operators to contribute to the completion of the work plan.
- Anticipate work needs and prioritize tasks to effectively use available opportunities in a timely manner.
- Learning to load and unload parts by recognizing tools and equipment and assisting in loading and unloading.
- Always keep the work environment clean
- Always comply with the company’s safety regulations by preparing the necessary documents before starting any work.
What you will need for this role
- Post-secondary or relevant discipline is preferable equivalent education obtained through degrees, certificates (e.g. apprenticeship or trades certificate) or diplomas from academic or vocational training centres.
- Relevant experience typically achieved through vocational trainings and equivalent practical experience or on-the-job training.
- Permitted Mongolian Driver’s license with classifications of В, C, and M.
- An ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Will be advantage of South Gobi citizen.
