The opportunity
We are looking for 4 (four) Technician E&I Reliability in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Underground Electrical & Instrumentation Department based Oyu Tolgoi Site with 14 days on and 14 days off.
The purpose of this role is to support ensuring the optimization and reliability of assets, conducting analysis of reliability problems, and investigating to determine the required reliability for the particular situation.
What the role entails:
- Conduct research and collect data on issues under the guidance of senior engineers and specialists in accordance with established procedures. Participate in analyzing failures and damages of critical system equipment and assessing their consequences.
- Identify potential failures in electrical and instrumentation equipment. Diagnose and repair system malfunctions under the instruction of engineers and senior staff. Provide support for unexpected breakdowns when necessary.
- Assist senior staff and engineers by providing information to improve maintenance schedules and implement necessary updates and changes.
- Address reliability issues using tools (Fishbone and 5 Whys) for investigations. Continuously develop your knowledge and expertise while analyzing complex issues on-site and providing insights.
- Identify primary faults on PLC and SCADA systems
- Detect faults through RTBS, and create additional or work orders if needed.
- Ensure the availability of spare parts for equipment and verify accurate system records.
- Propose suggestions for engineering solutions and maintenance improvements, providing support to engineers.
- Set an example for contractors and employees by adhering to and promoting company policies, procedures, and safety culture, while providing guidance and support.
- Ensure compliance with Mongolian and Oyu Tolgoi electrical regulations and standards.
- Monitor the condition of equipment and perform data collection tasks. Be proficient in reading P&ID and Logic Diagrams.
- Support the Work Management process by ensuring the proper execution of maintenance tactics, particularly for planned maintenance activities. Use various asset management and performance monitoring systems and software, such as SAP, Matrikon, PI and PowerBI.
- Actively participate in readiness improvement projects with the assistance of senior engineers and specialists.
What you will need for this role
- Maintenance Engineers of relevant discipline is preferable Undergraduate ot equivalent or higher education obtained through degrees or diplomas from academic college or universities.
- License on handles electrical work or Electrical trades certification.
- At least 3 years relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions, skilled in safety practices and recognizing hazards
- Good in oral and written English communication is preferred
