The opportunity
We are looking for one (1) Technician Communications and Infrastructure in Oyu Tolgoi Underground operations – UG Technology department based at Oyu Tolgoi mine with the roster of 14 days on and 14 days off.
Technician communications and infrastructure in the UG Communications Team has the responsibility to install and maintain all the Wired / Wireless / Radio Communications Infrastructure in a normal working condition and ensure smooth operation of all Communications systems
What the role entails
- Actively participate in and promote a culture that values safety, occupational health, and environment as the number one priority, strive towards a goal of zero incidents, and provide a safe and healthy workplace for all.
- Ensure all safety standards, practices and policies are followed and incidents are reported.
- Promotes and demonstrates values and behaviors in line with OT HSEC policies and standard Wireless / Radio Communications
- Responsible for maintaining Underground Radio system
- Responsible to for radio/wireless network expansion through UG mine development
- Ensure the Wireless / Radio Communications infrastructure is efficiently utilized to support day to day operations of the mine development and operations
- Perform structured Preventative Maintenance activities on all the Communications systems used for Underground
- Maintaining the inventory and spare parts of our all the Communications gears (wireless links, access points, radio etc.)
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvements on the responsible systems
- Performs other duties as required
What you will need for this role
- Undergraduate or equivalent or higher education in a discipline relevant perform function obtained through degrees or diplomas (preferred IT Communications and Engineering) from academic college or universities.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience work experience
- Ability to work in underground conditions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong technical skills in the networking field.
- Excellent communication skill is required.
- Positive attitude and willingness to take on challenges.
- B driving license is required, M driving license will give an advantage.
