The opportunity

We are looking for four (4Student Intern in Oyu Tolgoi LLC, Concentrator Maintenance Department based at Oyu Tolgoi mine site for 3 months internship programme.

This internship programmed is intended for high-performing students who wants to understand how world class mining business operates while gaining a first-hand experience of corporate culture. Interning for the Education Support team will provide great exposure to internal activities in one of the most dynamic and best performing units in the business. What the role entails

  • Provide effective professional support and assistance to the concentrator repair department team to ensure reliable operation of plant equipment.
  • Comply with Oyu Tolgoi’s policies and procedures and business safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Actively participate in solving the problems encountered in the workplace and work proactively on continuous self-development.
  • Initiate methods to make maintenance work safe and easy by using modern technology and solutions and monitor and work while the quality of equipment repair is carried out by supporting initiatives.
  • Act under the general supervision of the Senior Engineer in conducting detailed maintenance related studies and estimating downtime due to equipment/component breakdowns.
  • To take quick action in case of unexpected unplanned downtime, to find a clear solution to the problem, and to use professional skills to make and present possible solutions that can be implemented in practice.

What you will need for this role

  • Must be a Mongolian citizen.
  • Must be enrolled in a full time Bachelor or Master degree course of relevant majors at accredited Universities/Colleges in Mongolia or abroad and is expecting to be a 3-4th year student in current school year Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other relevant degree
  • GPA must be 3 or higher (On 4.0 scale)
  • Excellent written and spoken communication in English and Mongolian and ability to work as a team member
  • Good skills in using Microsoft Office 365 environment and Excel programmed at advanced level
