The opportunity
We are looking for one (1) Specialist Reporting in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Finance department based at Ulaanbaatar office. This is 6 months fixed term opportunity.
The purpose of this role is to analyse and produce all weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports provided by the Finance team both internally and externally to stakeholders including Rio Tinto and EOT. The provision of these reports will be in line with the company policies and procedures to achieve the team’s objectives and targeted plan.
What the role entails
- Prepare, populate and maintain the Board Scorecard and Board Report on a monthly basis. This involves population with actual month end data, providing insightful analysis on financial and physical metrics and obtaining monthly updates from all areas of the business. These need to be reviewed, sanitised and written to flow as a single document for distribution to OT Board.
- Co-ordinate and prepare the Quarterly Lenders Report which is required to be provided no later than 60 days after the end of each quarter in accordance with the Lenders Agreements.
- Provide information for, and help prepare the CEO/MD updates which are required to be provided to the Product Group on a quarterly and ad-hoc basis.
- Co-ordinate and consolidate the Management Year End Reporting deliverables and prepare the Year in Review document required by OT’s external stakeholders.
- Prepare, populate and maintain the Weekly Drumbeat for both Rio Tinto Copper and Oyu Tolgoi. This involves liaising with Accounting and Operations departments for weekly updates to financial and operational performance, review by senior management and answering queries on month to date and month end projected forecasts from senior OT and RTC executives.
- Prepare the monthly OT Flash Report in conjunction with the Financial Accounting team. The Specialist Reporting will assist with the commentary and analysis for the month end Flash and provide the Heat Map and other deliverables requested from RTC and Controllers, will participate in calls and provide detailed analysis upon request.
- Co-ordinate stakeholder engagement with Board representatives for EOT with regards to budget approvals, updates, forecasts and actuals reporting. Co-Lead EOT engagement for annual plan review including facilitation of discussions on financial and physical metrics, deviation to prior plans and upcoming strategic programs.
- Preparation of Board Papers as requested by the CFO/Senior Manager Finance and Manager Finance.
- Provide adhoc reports and analysis as requested by the CFO/Senior Manager Finance and Manager Finance for business requirements to meet stakeholder expectations.
What you will need for this role
- Bachelor’s or higher education degree in Finance or Business Administration or relevant discipline is preferable.
- At least 3 years relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training.
- CA/CPA is preferred.
- Exceptional problem solving and innovative thinking.
- Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Experience working in a complex fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and willingness to take on challenges.
- Good communication skills in both Mongolian and English.
