The opportunity

We are looking for One (1) Specialist Production Operation in Oyu Tolgoi LLCUnderground Production Department based Oyu Tolgoi Site with 14 days on and 14 days off.

This role will support the creation, implementation and maintenance of fit-for-purpose processes relating to mine development and ensure the delivery of mine development plans whilst maintaining a high level of operational safety, schedule compliance and tactical efficiency applied to development plans.

What the role entails:

  • Support Production Operation Superintendent
  • Support/lead incident investigations within the production team and roll out learnings to the Contractors and operators.
  • Lead and run the weekly production operations incidents and actions meeting
  • Support development of JHAs, SWP, Risk assessments
  • Review, escalate and order any consumable that are in shortage, working with the procurement team
  • Conduct rollout of HSEC alerts and learnings from other sites
  • Run SWP updates with the Contractors and OT Production operators
  • Conduct regular audits of SWPs and identify gaps
  • Organise field trials of new equipment, consumable or processes via JHA and document learnings/opportunities
  • Support the Contractors to traing operators for new equipments for Production activities
  • Attend daily/weekly/monthly review meetings and provide feedback on any delays/issues faced by production team. request support from other teams or raise an improvement action if required
  • Support Production Operation superintendent on the recruitment of employees
  • Support flow of critical information amongst the Contractor supervisors and OT supervisors between shifts

What you will need for this role

  • Undergraduate or equivalent or higher education obtained through degrees or diplomas from academic universities.
  • Engineering or Mining or relevant discipline.
  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience, including leading and managing teams, or otherwise the significant practical
  • Advanced skills in BI (Power BI/ Tableau) and Power Automation tools.
  • Strong communication, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and spoken language in English and Mongolian
