The opportunity

We are looking for one (1) Specialist High Voltage Operations in Oyu Tolgoi LLC- Electrical Services department based at Oyu Tolgoi mine with the roster of 14 days on and 14 days off.

The purpose of this role is to manage, plan, organize, train, implement, and provide systematic guidance on the operational unit’s performance in accordance with company policies and procedures to achieve overall operational goals and objectives.

What the role entails

  • Analyzing the current process, making suggestions for improvement, supporting the sustainability and improvement of the current work process and business strategy.
  • Support activities to ensure reliable, continuous and stable operation in accordance with the electricity supply network regime of the mine site,
  • To review and monitor the dispatching operation management, equipment maintenance work orders and switching, coordination with related parties, and give necessary approvals.
  • To review the connection of the main network scheme, request changes if necessary,
  • To review measures taken by the dispatcher during the switching operation.
  • Report and thoroughly investigate accidents, determine and present action measures,
  • To act as the High Voltage Operations Superintendent in his/her absence and provide strategic, technical guidance and direction.
  • Other duties as specified.

What you will need for this role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineers or relevant qualification is preferable.
  • At least 5 years relevant experience, or otherwise significant practical experience and on-the-job training.
  • Communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate participative problem solving, project implementation & continuous improvement.
  • Analyzing & reporting electrical data
  • Applying power supply network processes
  • Developing process management and modelling
  • Ensuring compliance to electrical standards & regulations
  • Experience with training, mentoring and coaching other employees
  • Above intermediate level of English.
  • Works on MS Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
