The opportunity
We are looking for One (1) Specialist Electrical and Instrumentation UG Mine Services in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Underground Electrical & Instrumentation Department based Oyu Tolgoi Site with 14 days on and 14 days off.
The purpose of this role is to provide frontline leadership and ensures the effective and consistent delivery of services and support on electrical activities of the functional area in line with the company policies and procedures to achieve the department’s objectives and targeted plan.
What the role entails:
- Always make safety the top priority and actively promote a culture of support for team safety.
- Offer valuable guidance and foster constructive relationships with engineers, supervisors, and team members, striving to guarantee both safety and productivity in the workplace.
- Support teams in executing automation and electrical network installations aligned with the underground mine development plan.
- Provide electrical and automation operational support to underground mine operations, equipment, and other related team.
- Ensure the normal operation and maintenance of the Material Handling System (Underground crushing, and conveyor system).
- Support automation teams in estimating project scope and producing detailed drawings and automation equipment diagrams.
- Utilize Rio Tinto Business Solutions (RTBS) and follow OT Work Management process and ensure the compliance of work management activities with SAP work orders and instructions.
- Provide necessary assistance to senior staff in the Management of Change (MOC) process to ensure reliable operation of underground mine automation precision equipment and safely and effectively support electrical fault detection. This includes tasks with planned and unplanned requirements.
What you will need for this role
- Undergraduate or equivalent education obtained through degrees or diplomas from academic college or universities.
- Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline is preferable.
- At least 2 years relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and following prescribed safe work practice
- Written and verbal elementary communication skills in English
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programs including SAP and Deswik.
- Knowledge of Functional Safety (FS) and certification in FS training will be an advantage
- Driving License B
