The opportunity
We are looking for one ( 1) Specialist Contractor Labour and Employee Relations in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – People and Organization – Labour and Employee Relations department based at Ulaanbaatar.
The primary purpose of this role is responsible for supporting contractor labor and employee relations initiatives, leading contractor employee relaitons engagement in alignment with relevant laws, legislations and Oyu Tolgoi LLC policies and procedures and will perform other service functions with emphasis on contractor employee relations management. The individual will conduct effective contractor labor and employee related interventions and programs by working collaboratively with contractor companies on various labor and employee relations issues including Employee Relations Management Plan, performance and conduct issues, work environment concerns, consultations and investigations, and grievance management system administration. Specialist Contractor Labour and Employee Relations will provide support and collaborate with HRBPs, IR, HR Services and SMEs. The role will provide input and proposals to policy and procedure improvement, and drive and strive towards operational culture and excellence.
What the role entails
- Defines and manages the development and delivery of HR ER contractor analytical, investigation reports to provide insight within People and Organizations and line management on contractor people matters. with a focus on using data to drive preventative actions, problem solving and decision making.
- Understands HR current and future needs on contractor ER management and respond by proposing and cooperating with relevant stakeholders and SMEs.
- Consults and advise contractor companies on relevant legislation of Mongolia on labour relations, OT relevant ER standards and ensure application of the relevant HR policies, procedures and practices. Ensure immediate and effective feedback to relevant stakeholders (IR, HRBPs, Procurement, Contractor Management team. Etc.) on identifying gaps or incompliance of Contractor Employee Relations Management Plans with legislation or not meeting business needs.
- Champion the contractor par engagement in ER field and actively support the new initiatives and change management principles for creating one culture.
- Articulates a strong point of view while maintaining an enterprises viewpoint.
- Lead Contractor Employee Relations Management Plan (ERMP) initiatives, changes and implementation Ensure regular audits are done for the contractors with ERMP to ensure the compliance with ERMP.
- Supports and coaches contractor partner’s HRs on conducting HR investigations, engage other SME (security, compliance) where required. Conduct contractor case reviews of serious breaches and maintain the monhtly reports and centrlazed database for contractor case management.
- Oversee and lead as necessary complaints and grievances related to contractor partners and employes. Seek SMEs input (legal, Security, Compliance, RT Busines Conduct Office etc.) where required.
- Supports a day to dayr activities of ER team. Ensure timely report and escalation of the matter to own leader/MoR.
What you will need for this role
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business administration or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in employee relations.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge on labor laws and legislation and company polies and procedures
- Strong advising, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Mongolian and English
- Good computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs
