The opportunity

We are looking for one ( 1) Specialist Business Improvement in Underground Tactical Operations department based at Oyu Tolgoi mine site with roster 7 days on and 7 days off.

The primary purpose of this role is to support sustainable mining at full capacity, to implement continuous improvement programs to address potential problems, to implement major mining improvement projects with the support of the Executive Management Committee, to create change, and to develop and implement continuous improvement in mining operations departments.

What the role entails

  • Collaboration with key stakeholders to develop and manage improvement programs targeting safe, sustainable cave development ramp up.
  • Project manage the improvement programs, developing and reporting on leading and lagging KPIs.
  • Assist in the development and deployment of business improvement method and tools, in line with the business improvement strategy/plan.
  • Identify and manage key bottlenecks, opportunities and risks that may impact delivery of improvement programs and support/develop effective project scopes.
  • Participate and lead step-change improvement programs, Lean, 6-sigma, and problem-solving projects.
  • Work and collaborate with the central Business Improvement team to develop and deploy business improvement methods and tools.
  • Lead ad-hoc team members and/or consultants as required as part of a project team and deliver training for business improvement tools and methodologies.
  • Assit in the management of change process to ensure successful delivery of the solutions in Underground.

What you will need for this role

  • Relevant education obtained through degrees, diplomas and /or certificates from academic college or universities.
  • Mining related, Project Management, Business Administration / Management or equivalent
  • 3+ years demonstrated history of business improvement and/or project management
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have high oral and written English skills
  • Underground experience an advantage
  • Lean or Six Sigma qualifications advantageous
