The opportunity

We are looking for two (2) Senior technical writer in Oyu Tolgoi LLCSite Infrastructure and Services – Sustaining Capital Department based Ulaanbaatar Office with 5 days on and 2 days off.

Purpose of this role is to control and provide services and support within SWP document control activities of the functional area in line with the company policies and procedures to achieve the team’s objectives and targeted plan.

What the role entails:

  • Develop, update, and improve the Standard Work Procedure (SWP), introduce it to relevant employees, prepare an implementation plan, and male necessary modifications as needed.
  • Verify the document number, title, review and editing information, status updates, and check if the validated signature is correct;
  • Gather and check the technical systems and other key information in the project documents, making sure they are accurate and adding explanations where needed.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee documentation standards, methodologies, and oversee compliance, and manage execution when required.
  • Ensure the necessary validating signatures are obtained before taking control of the document;
  • Upload the main file to the Information Management System (IMS) and create converted files;
  •  Ensure all documents comply with the numbering and editing procedures of “Oyu Tolgoi” LLC;
  • Maintain access rights and IMS correctly for both original and converted files;
  • Review and edit documents and drawings, and update metadata accordingly;
  • Organize training for the documentation, and SWP when necessary and provide technical support to system users;
  • Input standards and procedures into ALIM, manage the handover and archiving of project documents;
  • Re-number documents received from various suppliers with the “Oyu Tolgoi” document numbering code and input them into the Information Management System (DMS);

What you will need for this role

  • Bachelor or higher degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a relevant discipline.
  • Have studied in the relevant vocational education field and gained work experience through appropriate training.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong ability in Microsoft Office programs with an ability to produce high-quality documents using (in particular) Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Detailed understanding of EDM system
