The opportunity

We are looking for one (1) Senior Engineer Mining in Oyu Tolgoi LLC, Underground Production department based at Oyu Tolgoi mine site with roster 14 days on and 14 days off.

The primary purpose of this role is to be the link between the technical teams and operations team to ensure safe and successful production execution.

What the role entails

  • Work with multiple stakeholders to deliver safe achievable plan for the UG Production activities
  • Manage and overseeing the Production engineers work to deliver quality and timely work
  • Responsible for developing and implementing effective production plan that maximize productivity and meet production targets.
  • Optimize production processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase production output.
  • Establish work process and operating system for Production activities
  • Collaborate with SRP team to deliver Production plan monthly and Weekly plan space
  • Collaborate with ELHL team to deliver combined plan, ensure smooth operation of sustainable Production KPI
  • Initiate improvement projects which aim to efficient Production operation
  • Manage and support Vertical development activities
  • Support Production new equipment procurement
  • Provide technical support to team member and other departments
  • Participate and facilitate in incident investigations, risk assessment, JHA
  • Monitor and coordinate Drawpoint, Drawbell and Undercut activities on Panel 0,1,2
  • Monitor Truck Chute operation and normal smooth operation
  • Monitor and improve productivity of Road train operation
  • Defining execution methodology for production related activities
  • Support and coordinate the Production operational readiness activities
  • Accountable for production planning input into the monthly and weekly space
  • Manage and maintain a safe and secure work environment.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with all employees and project stakeholders.

What you will need for this role

  • Bachelor’s degree in mining Engineer or other relevant discipline
  • At least 5 years’ experience in underground mining activities is highly regarded, or otherwise significant
  • practical underground experience and on the job training.
  • Previous underground supervisory experience is highly regarded.
  • Good English verbal and written skills
  • Good computer skills including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and Office suite.
  • B Class driving license\
  • Have good personal organization and communication skills
  • Good verbal and written English skills.
