The opportunity

 

We are looking for one ( 1) Senior Engineer Mechanical in Oyu Tolgoi Concentrator Maintenance Department based at Oyu Tolgoi mine site with roster of 14 days on and 14 days off.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide 24-hour support to maintenance operations teams to ensure the highest possible level of operational reliability and availability of fixed underground mine equipment.

What the role entails

  • The key performance indicator objectives of this executive are aimed at ensuring the reliable operation of the plant by professionally supporting the operations of the fixed equipment repair department.
  • In order to support the management team, be informed when making decisions, take prompt action in case of unexpected unplanned downtime, and propose a possible solution to the problem in a professional manner.
  • Maintain positive relationships with equipment manufacturers and suppliers within the scope of duties
  • Development of equipment maintenance tactics, development of standard work procedures and guidelines, control and optimization
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on equipment failures and optimize preventive measures
  • Provide professional advice and assistance to the supply department and support them in signing contracts with suppliers in accordance with Oyu Tolgoi’s policies and procedures.
  • Provide support to management team with planning, modeling, engineering assistance and assistance on major project tasks
  • Provide professional assistance to the maintenance team and support their professional development and skills development
  • Support the business innovation team in achieving their goals on time and within budget
  • Identify and create a spare parts list for critical components
  • Conduct inventory continuity audits starting with the most critical equipment

What you will need for this role

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Engineering
  • Must have worked in the field for at least 3 years or gained work experience through practical experience and workplace training
  • Be able to carry out work according to the plan, control the work process in accordance with priority issues, and solve problems
  • In-depth understanding of mine repair practices
  • Professional skills in the software programs for engineering drawing and calculation.
  • Be able to develop technical documentation
  • Advanced knowledge of English (oral and written)
  • Developed soft skills including teamwork and communication skills.
