The opportunity
We are looking for one (1) Senior Engineer Electrical in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – OTUP – Engineering Department based Oyu Tolgoi Site with 14 days on and 14 days off. This role is 1-years fixed term contract.
The purpose of this role is to perform conventional, complex engineering assignments that may involve equipment design, maintaining/optimizing existing assets, preparation of specifications or application of problem solving techniques to resolve issues.
What the role entails:
- Attend daily safety meetings
- Ensure that safe operating practices, systems, and processes comply with Mongolian regulations and Rio Tinto HSEQ standards and procedures.
- Fully understand electrical systems along with their control and monitoring systems. Provide design and solution support for high power supply systems ranging from 35kV to 220kV, medium voltage equipment between 6.3kV and 10.5kV, low voltage equipment from 110V to 1000V, and extra-low voltage equipment operating at 24VDC to 48VDC, including related circuits
- Oversee and coordinate various aspects of engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Act as a liaison between various teams, including Operations, EPCM, and contractors, ensuring effective communication.
- Execute all work in alignment with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality systems.
- Support team members in enhancing their effectiveness in their roles.
What you will need for this role
- Bachelor or higher degree in Engineering, Mining, Maintenance or relevant discipline.
- At least 5 years relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training.
- Team oriented, friendly and amicable personality.
- Able to review and supervision on engineering calculation in all terms of the Project and Mine.
- Able to work in engineering software and perform calculation as required.
- Be proficient with Windows Software, in particular Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Strong English verbal and written skills are mandatory.
