The opportunity 

We are looking for two (2)  Project Lead in Oyu Tolgoi LLCUnderground Operational Readiness Department based in Oyu Tolgoi Site with 7 days on and 7 days off.   

The purpose of this role is to provide services and support for UG Operations Project Management team and ensure application team and implementation of project processes and project controls practices including principals of planning, scheduling, risk/change/quality management, cost/schedule integration and performance measurement for “P1&P2 Caves” and “Ramp-up to 95ktpd” underground mining projects. 

What the role entails:

  • Create, maintain, and report on the project plan and schedule
  • Participates in project schedule review meetings and update schedules
  • Assists in maintaining the integrity of integrated project schedules
  • Supports development of monthly schedule reports, including proper analysis
  • Supports compliance with standardized processes, systems, and tools
  • Collaborates with the cost engineering and estimating groups to ensure that implications of changes are well articulated.
  • Liaison between UG operations work groups for all project related issues
  • Be involved in resource planning and management: equipment and labor
  • Support UG operations work groups to prepare budget approval documentation
  • Keep all documentation and project management tools updated including project, equipment, workforce and procurement tracking sheets
  • Reports, monitors and controls the project deliverables in different work breakdown structures (work package, discipline and cost element)
  • Updates and issues monthly reports, including planned vs actual activities
  • Assists on estimating activities as required to support the cost reporting functions, preparation of cost, schedule and quality control systems and procedures, development of action plan list or schedule for effective implementation of the project controls system and completion of other project controls duties as required.
  • Supports compliance with standardised processes, systems and tools.
  • Expand and update knowledge and skills through continuing professional development (self-directed or employer sponsored) that is consistent with the requirements of the Mongolian and international professional development guidelines.

 What you will need for this role

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or Business Administration or equivalent technical discipline obtained through degrees, certificates or diplomas from colleges or universities
  • Project Management certification (PMP, Lean Portfolio Management) is preferable
  • Previous experience in project planning and scheduling
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Project, etc.) and Primavera 6
  • Experience with SAP
  • Advanced skills in PowerBI
