The opportunity
We are looking for one (1) Operator Hoist in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Underground Shaft Operations & Logistics Department based Oyu Tolgoi Site with 14 days on and 14 days off.
The purpose of this role is to operate the Underground shaft hoist Handles the safe transportation of material, personnel, and the ore and waste up and down the Shaft. Provide oral translation when required.
What the role entails:
- Work under the supervision of Senior Hoist Operator
- Be fit for work and show up on time
- Perform shaft operations which include: be familiar with surface slick line operations, shaft signaling, transport of personnel and materials in the cage, deck operation including loading and unloading of the cage with personnel and material and understanding the importance of load limits on the cage, observation of the installation and removal of the work platform (skeleton) in/out of the shaft, normal slinging in and under the cage including sling work at 1344 level, assist maintenance personnel to fulfill their tasks.
- Provide a communications/coordination center in the event of an emergency
- Be familiar with all emergency procedures and phone numbers and call point numbers
- Follow instructions of supervisor
- Attend and pay attention during all scheduled training sessions
- Perform workplace housekeeping duties
- Use personal protective equipment and use additional personal protective equipment when necessary
- Ensure safe working environment is maintained at all times in pursuit of the Safety rules
- Assist in maintenance work, in a hoist operators capacity
- Other job duties as required and declared by supervisors
What you will need for this role
- Post-secondary or equivalent education obtained through degrees, certificates (e.g. apprenticeship or trades certificate) or diplomas from academic or vocational training centres.
- Valid certificate of Hoist operations. Certificate or more from vocational training center. On the job practical training.
- Relevant experience typically achieved through vocational trainings and equivalent practical experience or on-the-job training.
- Must possess a valid Hoist Operators Medical Certificate. Good communication skills. Must be able to work well in a group environment.
- Intermediate level in English is preferred.
- Will be advantage of South Gobi citizen
