The opportunity
We are looking for one (1) Operator Deck in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Underground Shaft Operations and Logistics department based at Oyu Tolgoi mine with the roster of 14 days on and 14 days off. This is one year fixed term role.
The scope of the work includes movement of materials, waste bins, personnel and assisting in shaft slinging, and facilitating to run surface laydown area at the shafts.
What the role entails
- Participating the safety and line up meeting.
- Support loading the shaft conveyance from surface, including: people, materials, and slinging items.
- Equipment’s prestart checks
- Operate material handling equipment’s (Loader, ITC, Telehandler, Telescopic, Forklift, Flatbed truck)
- Support securing materials and spotting for equipment’s
- Support surface slickline operation
- Support surface mucking
- Workplace inspections and housekeeping.
- Writing JHA’s and track and involving SWP’s with crew.
- Receive directions and understand their work duties and line up for the shift.
- Supporting rigging maintenance
- Ensuring all work conducted in accordance with Site Safety Standards
- Follow instructions of Supervisor and Team Leader Deck
- Other job duties as required and declared by supervisors and Leaders
What you will need for this role
- Post-secondary or equivalent education obtained through degrees, certificates (e.g. apprenticeship or trades certificate) or diplomas from academic or vocational training centres.
- Heavy equipment operator’s certificate and/or relevant disciplines.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an underground environment
- Relevant experience typically achieved through vocational trainings and equivalent practical experience or on-the-job training.
- Driver’s permits and licenses
- Competent in communication among team members and supervision.
- Support people to consistently demonstrate HSEC work practices and address non- compliance with team members directly;”
