The opportunity
We are looking for two (2) Operator Blast Preparation in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Underground Production Department based Oyu Tolgoi Site with 14 days on and 14 days off. This role is 1-years fixed term contract.
The purpose of this role is to execute hole preparation tasks within the functional unit in line with the company policies and procedures to achieve the Mine’s extraction objectives and targeted plan.
What the role entails:
- Carry out blast hole preparation and other ancillary work in accordance with the instructions of the supervisor
- Read, interpret and follow drawings, sketches and plans provided by the Engineering team as required for hole preparation tasks;
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in the UG environment;
- Identify hazards in the workplace, implement appropriate controls, or escalate as reqiured to prioritize your own and others’ safety first.
- Establish effective and positive relationships with co-workers and other sectors of the mine
- Attend training on Awareness of Emergency Response to acquire full knowledge and skills & able to take appropriate responses when needed;
- Respond to emergency situations.
- Follow the 7 life saving rules
- Proper use and maintenance of PPE
What you will need for this role
- Post-secondary or equivalent education obtained through degrees, certificates (e.g. apprenticeship or trades certificate) or diplomas from academic or vocational training centers.
- B Class driving license and M Class driving license
- Must have work experience in shaft sinking explosive charging and blasting necessary for execution of UG Development
- At least 1-year significant practical experience and on the job training.
- Must have Certified Mongolian License on operating man basket crane
- Will be advantage of South Gobi citizen
