The opportunity
We are looking for one (1) Material logistic officer in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Underground Fixed Plant Maintenance Department based at Oyu Tolgoi mine site with roster of 14 days on and 14 days off.
The purpose of this role is to lead, plan, organize, train and provide systematic guidance on the implementation and performances of materials activities in the functional unit in line with the company policies and procedures to achieve the department’s objectives and targeted plan.
What the role entails
- Support the maintenance department in identifying parts, material delivery, and providing parts availability through a collaboration of planners and maintenance team within the Rio Tinto Business Solution (RTBS) SAP
- Be responsible for coordinating external and internal rotatable and repairable components and equipment within the Rio Tinto Business Solution (RTBS) SAP system.
- Liaise with suppliers either internal or external of OT on repair requirements to ensure BOMs are up to date and Weekly Jobs are ready to schedule with materials staged for execution.
- Ensure processes and procedures are followed within the area of responsibility to support the work management process focusing on the materials management process in both planned and urgent (breakdown) activities.
- Fully responsible of cleaning and securing for all parts storage area in the maintenance shop area.
- Supports to maintenance supervisors by providing assistance with maintenance tasks if required.
- Continuously seek the opportunity to improve the workplace and the procedures.
- Optimise major and minor shutdown executions through parts readiness in well advance while managing and coordinating storekeepers and parts coordinators
- Expedite materials if not expected in time and develop monitoring reports and tasks
- Confirm all parts and materials will be available for coming 4 weeks minor or major shutdowns
- Provide ongoing track of critical materials availability, liase with inventory controllers on optimum stock leve
What you will need for this role
- logistic and engineer Post-secondary or equivalent education obtained through degrees, certificates (e.g. apprenticeship or trades certificate) or diplomas from academic or vocational training centres.
- At least 3 years relevant experince in tooling and parts management, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training.
- Proficient in MS Office products especially spreadsheet modelling skills
- Keep HSEC work practices front of mind and coach others to do the same
- Intermediate or above oral and written skills in English
