The opportunity
We are looking for One (1) Machinist Role in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – Underground Fixed Plant Maintenance Department Oyu Tolgoi Site with 14 days on and 14 days off. This role is 6-months fixed term contract
The purpose of this role is to provide services and support on activities of the functional area in line with the company policies and procedures to achieve the team’s objectives and targeted plan.
What the role entails:
- Receive and gather instructions at the pre-work meeting
- Complete all relevant documentation
- Perform the production, fine-tuning, and measurement tasks of equipment directly involved in copper concentrate production
- Conduct measurements required for the mechanical adjustment of all types of mobile and stationary equipment and provide support to engineering and technical staff
- Assist senior staff and planners in documenting necessary inspections/repairs
- Keep records of all these processes
- Be capable of safely using hand tools
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain tools and keep the work area organized properly
- Follow instructions from the supervisor
- Use personal protective equipment
What you will need for this role
- Post-secondary or equivalent education obtained through degrees, certificates (e.g. apprenticeship or trades certificate) or diplomas from academic or vocational training centres.
- Certificate or more from vocational training center, previous job experience in related field. Mechanical engineer or relevant discipline is preferable.
- Relevant experience typically achieved through vocational trainings and equivalent practical experience or on-the-job training
- Act fairly, honestly and consistently in line with The Way We Work.
- Deliver work to plan, track task progress and resolve issues that block task completion, escalating where appropriate
