The opportunity
We are looking for One (1) Hydrocarbon Engineer in Oyu Tolgoi LLC – SIS – Operations Department based Oyu Tolgoi Site with 14 days on and 14 days off.
Ensure the technical and Operational readiness of Fuel Depot, fuel distribution station, fuel related buildings, storage tanks, pipelines, fuel distribution vehicles, technological equipment, measuring instruments calibration, automation and other related equipments. Improve the efficiency of fuel facilities and equipment and ensure compliance with applicable laws, standards and regulations that adheres to Rio Tinto and Mongolian state standards and laws. To this extend, role entails the necessity to provide constant supervision, conduct relevant inspections, perform maintenance, provide indirect supervision to maintenance engineers and technical workers (Engineering and Technical Workers) to monitor their work performance, work effectively with relevant departments and teams, prioritize safety, reduce workplace risks, and improve the work environment.
What the role entails:
- Conducting HSES risk assessments, risk assessments, and regular participation in implementing a critical risk management program for fuel facilities, equipment, and workplaces.
- Monitor and supervise the performance of contractors (maintenance, service) to ensure that they meet schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
- Ensure and monitor the normal operation of automatic and mechanical equipment, promptly notify the relevant team in case of malfunctions or errors, ensure normal operation, and work towards making improvements.
- Update and monitor the implementation of Standard Working Procedures applicable to petroleum product warehouses and fuel stations in conjunction with the fuel team.
- Ensure the technical readiness and monitor the automation equipment’s, as well as proper utilization of measuring instruments.
- Ensure environmental, occupational safety, health, and fire safety, and evaluate and report on the results of projects and activities.
- Regularly monitor fuel surplus, shortage, and quality, work with relevant departments and teams, identify and report on the causes of problems, and provide guidance and advice.
- Work towards developing and acquiring approval of Emergency Response plans in accordance with regulations and organize Emergency drills in collaboration with relevant teams.
- Excellent English knowledge both in written and oral
- Provide safety instructions/inductions to visitors and partner organization employees.
- Work to reduce overall time for fuel loading and unloading, improve capacity and utilization, and adjust improvements to increase productivity.
- Work closely with the teams to strengthen the safety culture.
What you will need for this role
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from a university or college program, with a degree or diploma. A professional engineering degree would be an advantage. Field of Study
- Professional knowledge and experience in fuels and lubricants, oil storage, transportation, and construction. Plan to work in the mining industry in the field of petroleum exploitation and general technology engineering.
- At least 5 years relevant experience, or otherwise the significant practical experience and on the job training.
- Experience in construction and commissioning of petroleum product warehouses and fueling stations would be an advantage experience in leading technical and engineering team
- Knowledge of petroleum industry laws and regulations, experience in assessing compliance with legal standards and requirements for petroleum product storage facilities and gas stations, and experience in planning and implementing improvement measures
- Display valid Mongolian driving license and experience appropriate for the type of vehicle type
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work in a team and independently
- Ability to conduct analysis, prepare and report statistical data
